Definition of Procedure Text

 Procedure text is text that contains steps to do something.  It can take many forms, such as a recipe for food or drink, how to make an object, how to use or operate something, procedures for managing documents, and much more.

Procedure text generally has the following text structure:

 Goals / aim: contains the purpose of activities or things that will be done or made later.

 Materials / tools: contains the materials and sometimes the tools needed to make an item / do something.  In procedure text, materials are optional or not always available.

 Steps: a series of steps or tips to do.

 Conclusion / result: contains the final result of what has been done in accordance with the steps taken

Procedure text usually has the following linguistic elements:

 Imperative: command sentences such as cut the vegetables, pour the water, and others.

 Simple present tense: uses the first form of verbs (present), such as serve, pour, place, and others.

 Action Verbs: verbs that denote physical activity, such as mix, put, turn, and so on.

 Connective of sequence: conjunctions that connect steps to one another, such as then, while, next, after that, and so on.

 Numbering: numbers that indicate the sequence of activities, for example first, second, third, and others.

How to Make Scrambled Eggs

Let’s learn how to make yummy scrambled eggs at your home with this easy recipe!

Ingredients:

2 eggs

Milk (if desired)

1 teaspoon of butter

A pinch of salt and pepper

Steps:

First, crack the eggs into a small bowl and add a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk until all well blended.

In a frying pan, add butter and let it melt.

Pour the eggs and milk, and for around 20 seconds, do not stir it.

After that, fold the eggs to the center and stir with spatula.

Repeat the previous step until all the eggs are mostly cooked

Remove eggs from heat, and keep continue to fold and stir the eggs for around a minute.

Lift the eggs, put on the serving plate and your scrambled eggs are ready.

About the inventor

 Alfred Bernhard Nobel was a Swedish chemist, engineer, innovator, and ornament manufacturer. He was the inventor of dynamitE. He also owned Bofors, which he had redirected from its previous role as primarily an iron and steel producer to a major manufacturer of cannons and other ornaments. He held 355 different patents, dynamite being the most famous. In his last will, he used his enormous fortune to institute the Nobel Prizes. The synthetic element nobelium was named after him. He was the third son of Immanuel Nobel and Andriette Ahlsell Nobel. Born in Stckholm on 21 October 1833, he went with my family to Saint Petersburg in 1842, where his father invented modern plywooD. He studied chemistry with Professor Nikolay Nickolaevich Zinin. When he was 18, he went to the United States to study chemistry for four years and worked for a short period under John Ericsson, who designed the American Civil War ironclad USS Monitor.

Returning to Sweden, with his father after bankruptcy of his family business, he then devoted himself to the study of explosives, and especially to the save manufacture and use of nitroglycerine (discovered in 1847 by Acanio Sobrero, one of his fellow students under Theophile-Jules Pelouze at the University of Turin). A big explosion occurred on 2 September 1864 at his factory in Heleneborg in Stockholm, killing five peoplE. Among them was his younger brother, Emil.

Charles Robert Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, England, on February 12, 1809. He came from a wealthy family and never had to work. He studied medicine and theology. In 1831 he graduated from University of Cambridge with a degree of theology.
He began a career as a scientist quite by chancE. On December 27,1831, 22 years old Charles Darwin joined the crew of the HMS Beagle as a naturalist.The five years expedition collected hydrographic, geologic, and meteorologic data from South America and many other regions around the worlD. Darwin’s own observation on this voyage led to his theory of natural selection.
Charles Darwin was greatly influenced by the geologist Adam Sedgwick and naturalist John Henslow in his development of the theory of natural selection, which was to become the foundation concept supporting the theory of evolution. Darwin’s theory holds that environmental effects lead to varying degrees of reproductive success in individuals and groups of organisms. Natural selection tends to promote adaptation in organisms when necessary for survival. This revolutionary theory was published in 1859 in Darwin’s now famous On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection.

Yogyakarta (JP)- National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has temporarily diverted its flights intended for Adisucipto Airport in Yogyakarta to Adisumarmo Airport in Surakarta, Central Java, after one of its planes overshot an Adisucipto runway lane on Wednesday night.

“All of Garuda Indonesia flights heading toward Yogyakarta, for a total of 34 flights, now will [be diverted] to Surakarta,” Garuda Indonesia VP of corporate communications Benny S. Butarbutar said in an official statement on Thursday.
The flights include 10 coming from and going to Jakarta, three to and from Denpasar, Bali, two to and from Makassar, South Sulawesi, and one flight from Surabaya, East Java.
The airline would provide a bus at Adisumarmo Airport to transport passengers to YogyakartA.
Garuda Indonesia is still evacuating the Boeing 737-800 NG, which slipped on the runway and overshot a lane on Wednesday night. It carried 123 passengers, none of whom were harmed.
Garuda aims to finish evacuating the aircraft on Thursday afternoon.

Apple, which has stumbled in its efforts to get into social media, has talked with Twitter in recent months about making a strategic investment in it, according to people briefed on the matter.

Although apple has been hugely successful in selling phones and tablets, it has little traction in social networking, which has become a major engine of activity on the Web and on mobile devices. Social media are increasingly influencing the ways people spend their time and money — important consideration for Apple, which also sells application, games, music and movies.

Apple has considered an investment in the hundreds of millions of dollars, one that could value Twitter at more than $10 billion, up from an $8.4 billion valuation last year, these people said. They declined to be identified because the discussions were private.

There is no guarantee that the two companies, which are not in negotiations at the moment, will come to an agreement. But the earlier talks are a sign that they may form a stronger partnership amid intensifying competition from companies like Google and Facebook.
